ELD connection troubles checklist

On some occasions you will see that the mobile app can not connect to the ELD device. In this case it is vital to figure out the origin of the problem. Please do the following in "if not worked-then next" order.

IMPORTANT!!! If a driver has Android 10 or lower, or Xiaomi device and can't connect - ask him to go to "Bluetooth" screen of his smartphone and wait till PT_30... appears in the list of "Available devices". After this - repeat the connection attempt.

1. Ask the Driver to check that the MAC address he inserts is correct, if it is correct - ask to disable and enable the Location and Bluetooth on his mobile device. Alternatively ask teh driver to scan the QR code on the ELD device - this is the easiest way to connect to ELD

2. Check the power lights of the ELD device.
Ask the driver to check that the ignition of the vehicle is on and the power lights (located in th eside part of PT30 or in the round facing outside part of IOSIX) are ON. If they are off - ask the driver to disconnect and connect the ELD. If nothing changed - the problem is in The ELD device itself or the connection module of the track

3. Check if the ELD device is discoverable on the phone.
ELD device can be connected only via special mobile app, but HAS to be discoverable by a native BT tool of the mobile device. Please ask Driver to go to BT settings of his mobile device and search nearby devices. If ELD device is not in the list - the problem is in the ELD. If simple disconnect/connect of ELD from the cable does not help, the problem has to be addressed to the manufacturer.

4. Disable BT on ALL mobile devices in the cabin.

Ask the Driver to
- disable Bluetooth on all the mobile devices in the truck, including the one he tries to connect with MGK ELD.
- close all apps on the mobile device he tries to connect with MGK ELD
- then enable again Bluetooth on the mobile device he tries to connect with MGK ELD and try to connect again.

5. Connect to old ELD mobile app.
If none of the above helped - please ask the Driver to connect to ELD via the old app he used to work with (RTL or other). If he is unable to connect with it - then the problem is in the ELD and the problem has to be addressed to the manufacturer.

6. Reset Bluetooth settings (Applicable for Android) or clear Bluetooth cache
Depending on the mobile device type, you will find 1st or 2nd option. Search in settings of teh device and reset settings/clear cache of Bluetooth

 7. Make sure that the OS of the device is updated with the latest version.
Sometimes BT errors may be caused by OS bugs. Normally OS manufacturers quickly release fixes for such bugs

 8. Make sure that mobile device is not connected to any other BT device

9. Make sure that mobile device is sufficiently charged
If device is not charged, the powr save mode may limit BT usage

If after all above listed steps, the driver was able to connect to ELD via his old app, but can not connect to our app, please address the issue to us in the document https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/138127VGcLC_dvVXiKWogD-IwST8jWHmmo9qSMLgfbLo/edit#gid=394711946
